The CNG reducer, also called vaporizer, is the heart of a CNG vehicle conversion kit. It takes 200 bar high-pressure CNG from the cylinder, reduces the pressure step by step, and heats the gas with engine coolant to prevent freezing during decompression.
There are single-stage and multi-stage reducers on the market. Multi-stage CNG reducers deliver more stable gas pressure under different engine loads, which helps avoid engine misfire and fault light issues.
This component is designed for bi-fuel gasoline vehicles. It must be matched with the correct CNG ECU and gas injector rail. Low-quality reducers may cause gas leakage, power drop or unstable idle speed. For cold climate markets like Russia, low-temperature resistant CNG reducers are strongly recommended.
Proper installation and routine maintenance are required. Check the internal diaphragm regularly; replace it once it ages.
