High Displacement LPG Reducer

Our High Displacement LPG Reducer is a heavy-duty two-stage diaphragm unit designed specifically for high-power, large-displacement engine LPG conversion. Built with an upgraded internal structure and enlarged flow capacity, this LPG reducer delivers consistent and sufficient gas supply under continuous high-load conditions. It effectively solves common pain points of standard reducers, such as insufficient fuel delivery and power loss on large engines, offering stable, efficient and long-lasting LPG conversion solutions for commercial vehicles and heavy-duty power equipment.

Description

High Displacement LPG Reducer for High Power Engine

We supply a high-flow LPG reducer for larger engines. It's a two-stage diaphragm unit with wider internal passages and heavier components than standard passenger-car reducers.

The difference is in the duty cycle. A delivery truck or a bus runs at sustained high load for hours, not minutes. Standard reducers lose pressure over time under those conditions – the diaphragm fatigues, the output drifts, and the engine loses power. This one is built to hold steady.

It's not for the typical sedan conversion. It's for commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, and any LPG application where the engine works hard consistently.

Product Introduction

Most LPG reducers on the market are designed around passenger car duty cycles – lighter loads, shorter running periods. Put one on a commercial vehicle and the weak points show up: undersized passages, thinner diaphragms that fatigue quickly, pressure regulation that can't keep up with sustained demand.

We designed this reducer for commercial use. Bigger internal flow channels, a heavier diaphragm, and a pressure regulation system that doesn't wander when the engine is under load for extended periods.

It handles engines up to 150kW. The flow rate is rated at 120m³/h at standard pressure. Primary input handles up to 22MPa, output is adjustable from 0 to 0.5MPa.

If you're converting trucks, buses, or heavy equipment to LPG, this is the reducer we'd recommend. It's matched to the duty cycle, not just the horsepower number.

Product feature and application

High Displacement LPG Reducer3

Core Product Features

Larger internal flow passages – higher gas throughput under sustained demand

Heavier diaphragm material – resists fatigue from continuous cycling

Two-stage regulation – maintains output pressure under varying load

Adjustable output – matches different engine requirements

Cast housing – handles vibration and pressure spikes common in commercial use

Corrosion-resistant exterior coating

Main Application Scenarios

This reducer is for LPG conversions on commercial vehicles and heavy equipment:

Delivery trucks and vans

Buses and passenger transport

Agricultural and construction equipment

Marine applications running LPG

The common thread is sustained high-load operation – not occasional acceleration, but continuous demand. That's where standard reducers fail and this one holds up.

Product Details

The housing is a single-piece casting with thicker walls than standard reducers. It resists pressure spikes and vibration damage – common issues on commercial vehicles that run rough roads.

Inside, the flow passages are wider to reduce restriction. The gas doesn't have to push through narrow channels to reach the engine.

The diaphragm is the critical part. We use a heavier compound that resists flex fatigue. On standard reducers, diaphragm failure is the number one reason for replacement – the material hardens or cracks from continuous cycling. This one takes longer to reach that point.

The pressure adjustment screw allows output tuning from 0 to 0.5MPa. Seals are LPG-compatible – they resist swelling and hardening over time.

One important note: LPG reducers require engine coolant circulation to prevent icing in cold weather. This unit has the standard coolant fittings – you'll use your existing cooling system connections. No coolant = icing = pressure instability.

Product Qualification & Strength Verification

Every batch goes through pre-shipment testing:

High-flow fatigue cycles

Pressure resistance at max input

Temperature cycling from -40°C to +120°C

Long-duration load simulation (continuous, not intermittent)

These tests are run longer than standard passenger-car parts. We're simulating commercial use – hours under load, not just quick test cycles.

Batch records are maintained. We can provide test summaries on request.

FAQ

Q1: What's the difference between this and your standard passenger car reducer?

A: Four things: flow capacity, diaphragm thickness, housing strength, and tuning. Standard reducers typically handle up to 100kW. This one handles 150kW. The diaphragm is heavier – it doesn't fatigue as quickly under sustained load. The housing is thicker to handle vibration. The pressure curve is tuned for commercial driving patterns, not passenger car duty cycles.

Q2: What's the most common issue with LPG reducers in commercial use?

A: Diaphragm fatigue. Commercial vehicles run under load for longer periods, and the diaphragm cycles continuously. Lighter diaphragms harden or crack over time. That's why we use thicker material on this unit. The second most common issue is debris from the gas line – that's a filter problem, not a reducer problem.

Q3: Why does this reducer need a coolant line?

A: LPG expands and cools rapidly when it changes from liquid to vapour in the reducer. In cold weather, that cooling effect can cause ice formation inside the unit, which blocks gas flow and affects pressure regulation. Coolant circulation prevents that. This is standard for all LPG reducers – it's not specific to our unit.

Q4: Does output pressure drift over time?

A: Not with this unit. The spring and diaphragm maintain consistent pressure across the operating range. We've tested it under sustained load and pressure holds within spec. The adjustment screw is sealed to prevent tampering.
