Product Introduction

This reducer is made for GDI engines. The main difference between it and a regular CNG reducer is the diaphragm response time. GDI engines change fuel demand very quickly, and the reducer needs to keep up. This one does.

We test every batch on a bench before shipping. We've seen too many reducers that work fine on MPI but start acting up on GDI – pressure drops, rough idle, hesitation. This unit was designed specifically to avoid those issues.

Core Product Features

Different from reducers designed for traditional manifold‑injection vehicles, this unit is optimized for GDI direct injection engine characteristics. GDI engines have faster pressure fluctuation during acceleration and deceleration; poor‑quality reducers will trigger unstable idle speed, hesitation on acceleration and even fault codes.

This CNG reducer solves these common retrofit pain points. It is suitable for 4‑cylinder GDI gasoline vehicles doing CNG autogas conversion. It serves retrofit workshops, repair garages and aftermarket distributors. You can deploy it for brand‑new gas conversion projects, or replace original failing reducers to fix poor power and unstable running issues.

Main Application Scenarios

GDI engines, turbo or non-turbo

Product Details

Adopted two‑stage diaphragm decompression principle. High‑pressure CNG enters from inlet port, step‑by‑step pressure reduction inside the chamber. Adjustable outlet pressure lets technicians fine‑tune according to actual vehicle condition.

The core diaphragm material is improved against frequent pressure cyclic impact, lowering risk of early aging and deformation which is very common among cheap aftermarket reducers.

With large flow capacity, it can satisfy gas consumption demand when GDI engine runs under full‑load condition. Working temperature covers frigid cold area and high‑temperature summer driving scenarios.

Every unit leaves factory with basic calibration. On‑vehicle fine tuning is still required after installation to match each individual car. Custom service is supported for bulk orders for special project requirements.

Product Qualification & Strength Verification

We run these through standard pre-shipment checks:

Pressure hold and leak detection

Output pressure stability across the adjustment range

Cycle testing to simulate real-world load changes

Temperature cycling from -40 to +120

Each unit leaves the factory with basic calibration. On-vehicle fine-tuning is still needed after installation – that's normal for any reducer.

FAQ

Q1: What makes this reducer different from regular CNG reducers for MPI engines?

A: GDI engines require much faster pressure response and higher precision. Our reducer uses a high-sensitivity diaphragm that reacts instantly to GDI's rapid load changes, keeping output pressure stable for the high-pressure fuel rail. Regular MPI reducers lag behind, causing power loss or poor emissions on GDI engines.

Q2: How do you guarantee "High Stability" in real-world driving?

A: We use HNBR rubber diaphragm that resists corrosion from natural gas impurities. The water channel is optimized to prevent ice blockage even with low-quality coolant. Plus, the return spring is precisely matched to GDI's high-pressure range, ensuring no pressure spikes or drops during acceleration or idling.

Q3: Diaphragm type vs. piston type – which is better for GDI, and why?

A: Diaphragm type is better for GDI. It has no friction lag, responding faster to millisecond injection changes. It also delivers smoother pressure output, protecting expensive GDI injectors. Plus, it handles gas impurities better – dirt won't clog the moving parts like in piston designs.

Q4: Can this reducer work with turbocharged GDI engines?

A: Yes. Turbo engines create positive manifold pressure under hard acceleration. Our reducer is designed with boost compensation, adjusting outlet pressure dynamically to stay above manifold pressure. This ensures sufficient fuel supply and full power output even under boost.
